The goal of Pure Inspiration is to support the Tibetan monks of Drepung Gomang monastic University by providing funds for food and medical needs Monks return to the Phila Area - Sept 2-13 During a meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama while in Philadelphia, Pa on July 17 2008, (photos) HE thanked me for supporting the Tibetan people and Drepung Gomang monastery for the past 12 years. HE then explained that Drepung Gomang possesses special commentary on Tibetan Buddhist teachings which only exist at Gomang and if Gomang were to cease to exist, Tibetan Buddhism as we know it would be significantly diminished. HE then requested that I continue to devote my life to supporting Drepung Gomang monastery. Without hesitation, I agreed to this task. Our plan to support the monastery is to create a food fund by which the monks can be fed from the interest generated from donations. This will ensure that the monks, monastery and Tibetan Buddhism will continue to flourish. The details of this plan can be found on the Mission page.
